Gregory Skovoroda - Kyiv, Ukraine3D Model
Gregory Skovoroda, also known as Hryhorii Skovoroda or Grigory Skovoroda (Latin: Gregorius Scovoroda, Ukrainian: Григорій Савич Сковорода, Hryhorii Savych Skovoroda; Russian: Григо́рий Са́ввич Сковорода́, Grigory Savvich Skovoroda; December 3, 1722 – November 9, 1794), was a philosopher with Cossack roots who primarily wrote in the Sloboda Ukraine dialect of the Russian language. In addition to being a philosopher, he was a poet, teacher, and composer of liturgical music. Skovoroda’s substantial influence on his contemporaries and subsequent generations, as well as his way of life, were widely considered Socratic, leading to him often being referred to as “Socrates.” His work has enriched the cultural heritage of both modern-day Ukraine and Russia, with each country claiming him as a native son.
