Hans Knesl (born November 9, 1905 in Bad Pirawarth, Lower Austria, † July 4, 1971 in Vienna) was an Austrian sculptor who also used drawing and painting as a form of expression.
For a long time, his works were not understood by the public. For example, his sculpture “Große Stehende”, exhibited in Vienna’s Stadtpark in 1954, unleashed a scandal and had to be removed.
