More model informationAn 11-pound, cast-iron cannon shot, cleaned and conserved after being recovered from a reef near Key Largo, Florida. The site it comes from is thought to be that of the Cuban pirate slave ship Guerrero, wrecked in December of 1827. The 11.5 centimeter (4.54 inches) diameter cannonball originally weighed 12 pounds, but some of the cast-iron has corroded and graphetized during its time underwater, making it a bit lighter. It is known that the Guerrero carried brass cannons - all 12-pounders.
