More model informationThe Schiedam is a wreck from 1684 currently under investigation by our team off Cornwall in England. It is a fascinating site because the ship was carrying a guns and other material from the English colony of Tangier in North Africa. I took the photos for this model on a day of exceptional visibility and calm at the site, which is often swept by heavy seas. This shows an iron gun accreted to the seabed in about 5 metres depth. It measures approximately 2 metres in length and is probably one of the four 4-pounder guns known to have been carried on the ship as armament.
