H2DGE-NCAT Project – Web-Based 3D Interactive Platform for Residential Hydrogen Storage Visualization The H2DGE project developed a web-based interactive 3D model of a hydrogen-powered home to improve understanding of integrated renewable energy systems. The model shows key components—solar panels, electrolyzers, storage tanks, and fuel cells—within a residential setting, enabling exploration and educational outreach via platforms like Sketchfab. The goal was to increase awareness of net-zero hydrogen homes, focusing on renewable integration, safety, and spatial layout. Objectives I. Identify critical components of residential hydrogen systems from reliable sources (e.g., NREL, DOE Hydrogen Program). II. Model accurate, low-polygon 3D components for web performance. III. Integrate components into a residential shell for full system visualization. IV. Deploy the model on Sketchfab for browser and AR-compatible interaction. V. Add educational labels, interaction tools, and camera paths to enhance understanding.
