Haematite Concretions from Mars | Haematid3D ModelNoAI
Concretiadau Haematid o Blaned Mawrth Daeth y crwydrwr Opportunity ar draws haematit ar blaned Mawrth ar ffurf sfferau bach fel hwn. Efallai bod y sfferau wedi’u ffurfio fel dyddodion craig dan amodau dyfllyd biliynau o flynyddoedd yn ôl. Fersiwn y Ddaear o’r ‘llus Mawrthaidd’ yw’r concretiad hwn. Cafodd yr haearn sy’n ffurfio’r concretiadau hyn eu creu wrth i fwynau silicad sy’n cynnwys haearn ddadelfennu o ganlyniad i hindreuliad.
The Opportunity rover found haematite on Mars in the form of small spheres, like this. The spheres may have formed as rock deposits under watery conditions billions of years ago. This concretion is an Earth version of these ‘Martian blueberries’. The iron forming these concretions came from the breakdown of iron-bearing silicate minerals as a result of weathering.
