The hamadryas baboon is the northernmost of all the baboons, being native to the Horn of Africa and the southwestern region of the Arabian Peninsula. It lives in arid areas, savannas, and rocky areas, requiring cliffs for sleeping and finding water. It has an omnivorous diet that varies in wet and dry seasons. Males can reach a body length of 80 cm weighing up to 20-30 kg.
