Hammerhead Shark Jaw (NHMW-Zoo-FS 50111)3D Model
3D scan of a hammerhead shark jaw from the species Sphyrna zygaena. This species of the Genus Sphyrna lives coastal-pelagic and semi-oceanic and is therefore often found in shallow waters all over the world. When fully grown, this species can reach a length of 3.5 meters. During mating season, it is possible to encounter large groups of these sharks, so called “shark-schools”.
This specific jaw is housed backstage, but another hammerhead shark jaw, alongside other jaws from different shark species can be found in Hall 25 of the NHM Vienna.
