A solid gold bead from the Han dynasty. It is similar in appearence to Hunnish beads from the fifth century C.E. There is a Ram’s Horn symbol in the center. This type of bead, like many other gold-based designs, may have been an import from the North. Moreover, gold is an irregular material for Han beads that are typically glazed ceramic, jade, or made from gemstones.
