Reconstructed from an iPhone video using a structure-from-motion and stereo processing pipeline.

It’s hard to keep one hand still while moving the other hand around to record a video (which is why there is some ghosting and artifacts in the model). A structured light sensor or better camera setup would definitely help. Also, there’s some great research out there on modeling deformable objects which could be very useful in this case (3D Scanning Deformable Objects with a Single RGBD Sensor is one example).
