More model informationMonument to Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) in Bratislava. The statue by Tibor Bártfay was unveiled in 2006, on the occasion of Andersen’s 200th birthday. The larger-than-life monument depicts the poet with characters from some of his fairy tales. Hans Christian Andersen is the most famous poet and writer in Denmark. Through his fairy tales such as The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Little Mermaid, The Steadfast Tin Soldier or The Princess and the Pea, he became world famous.
