The harbour porpoise (Phocoena phocoena) is one of the smallest species of cetacean. It is widespread in cooler coastal waters of the North Atlantic, North Pacific and the Black Sea. Adults of both sexes measure from 1.4 to 1.9 metres, with females that are heavier than males (76 vs 61 kilograms).
