Hastings East Cliff Funicular, motorised model

A rather good motorised model of the Hastings East Hill Cliff Funicular Railway / East Cliff Lift. The real railway’s mechanism used to be powered by the water-balance principle, but has been electric since the 1970s. The model’s winding gear and gearing is constructed from Meccano.

The model is on display at Brighton Toy and Model Museum, where it can be operated by a pushbutton.
