Haunted Mansion Project: Fountain Statue

This fountain is inspired by two different pieces of concept art, Marc Davis’s concept for a headless knight, and Ken Anderson’s concept for the Headless Horseman’s HM appearance. I wanted to create something that was a subtle nod to both ideas without either having a ghost related item when youre not supposed to see ghosts until you enter the mansion or having a direct correlation to an existing character outside of HM. The result is a worn down statue of Marc Davis’s knight as he would look still alive posed to match Anderson’s sketch, with the head having broken off and been placed on the edge of the fountain. The fountain itself is heavily inspired by the St. George’s Fountain located at Primate’s Palace in Bratislava.
