This may look like a harmless round bale of hay, but it’s actually quite an intimidating subject to scan, difficult to triangulate due to its recurring texture.

Made of 89x12MP pictures taken with a smartphone in early October 2020, at dawn. Decimated to 1.2M verts, down from 5.1M. Experimented with a denser-than-usual mesh, as too aggresive topology optimizations would likely dissolve the thin protruding straw structures.
