This large, conspicuous boulder is known as the ‘Haystack’ and can be found in the Pancake Ridge area of Rombalds Moor, West Yorkshire, England.
Measuring 5.30m x 3.5m x 1.70m, both upper surfaces are adorned with prehistoric carvings. Referenced ‘IAG 302’ in Boughey & Vickerman’s 2003 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding’, where it’s described as:
‘…About seventy cups, ten with single rings, and multiple interlinking grooves, many other grooves possibly result of weathering along bedding planes.’ CSI: Rombalds Moor Project referenced the carving ‘Pancake Ridge 05’ on ERA, describing similar motifs. This model shows additional motifs.
