密排六方结构是指除在六角晶胞的顶角上有12个原子外，在每个底面中心有一个原子，在晶胞内部半高处有三个共面原子，轴比近似为1.633的六角晶体结构。把原子视为刚球，尽可能密集地有规则堆积，则密排六方结构是密堆积的方式之一。 The hexagonal close-packed lattice is a hexagonal prism with an atom on each vertex and three in center. Using the hard sphere model, which imagines each atom as a discrete sphere, the HCP crystal has each atom touch along the top and bottom of the prism.
