More model informationWilliam Shakespeare (1564-1616) is considered by many to be the most important writer in the English language and the world’s pre-eminent playwright. Most notably associated with Stratford-upon-Avon, this portrait bust is taken from the copy of Thomas Sheemakers’ work in the permanent collection of Sir John Soane’s Museum in London. The design is based on the famous Shakespeare Monument created by Sheemakers’ father for Poets’ Corner at Westminster Abbey in London. This new Haddonstone edition was launched in 2016 to mark the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death.
