The cast braincases of eight mammals have been on sale at the Gipsformerei since 1906. The prices ranged from 4 to 20 marks, depending on size. The casts come from the anthropological teaching aid collection of the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin. A braincase of a human from Central Europe was also part of the series on offer. These objects were used to study the biology of the human being in light of Charles Darwin’s tenets, which compare humankind with other animals according to the theory of evolution.
