More model informationTunnel Tigers are Donegal men, mainly from the Rosses area of Donegal, who travel the world constructing tunnels. They have worked on high profile projects all over the world from the construction of the Clyde Tunnel and the hydro schemes of central and northern Scotland, the New York Subways, the London Underground, the Channel Tunnel and the London rail schemes. In 1955, they made history, breaking a world record, by tunnelling through 557ft (170m) of rock in seven days while building the St Fillan’s section of the Breadalbane hydro scheme in Perthshire, Scotland.
