"Herb" the hippopotamus

Reconstructed with SCANN3D 2.5.0 on a Sony Xperia L, we’ve made a virtual copy of a home-made hexagon patchwork Hippopotamus.

Technique and Creation Details:

Created from from an astonishing 136 images in a moderately lit room, with light shining through one window. Once again, the surface upon which the model sits is feature rich, which helps the reconstruction. The texture of the model itself is advangageous: the repetitive, but well spaced out pattern aids the process. One can see how the underside of the neck is accurate, yet is fused with the surface below - the limited angle of view can result in artifacts like this.
