More model informationModel of the proposed European Hermes space shuttle. Based on the final designs, I’ve modeled the two astronaut version with no payload bay. This version has more extensive tile protection, and small orbital mauvering jets. I added some gentle weathering around the jets, nose and bottom side.
This is the landing configuration, there was a detachable service module attached to the back of the shuttle that provided manouvering ability.
The shuttle would be launched using an Ariane 5 rocket and fly to the American Space Station Freedom and the European Space Agency’s Columbus MTFF station or remote sensing Polar Platform.
It would then land on a runway and be launched again.
