More model informationA quirky building constructed on a wild part of the coast in NW Scotland - details are scant, but it would seem an architect from Norfolk (David Scott) built this “castle - or bothy” over a period of 6 months in 1950 , bringing in the materials - mainly concrete, by small boat. He apparently then spent a weekend sleeping in it before disappearing and never returning. The construction is deceptively small, given its rather grand appearance with only one small dank room internally, and blends in perfectly with the grey stone of the land - and it seems to potend the brutalist style that gave rise to the Barbican and South Bank Centres in London.
