Highcross Street - Medieval Stone-lined pit

This medieval stone-lined pit was excavated at Highcross Street, Leicester in 2017. It was once located at the back of a property fronting onto the street, and it is probably the remains of a privy. During the excavation, three intact late 13th or 14th century flagons were found tumbled at the bottom of the pit. A fourth, broken flagon lay nearby.
