There is a city much older than Rome, much older than Jerusalem and Troy, much older than the Egyptian pyramids… That city is situated on Pelješac, in Nakovana. More than 6000 years ago, the hillfort simply named Grad (City) was settled. As one of the oldest cities in Europe, during the Troyan wars and Odysseys wanderings, Grad was fortified with walls and ramparts becoming unconquerable hillfort. 230 BC Queen Teuta expands her mighty Illyrian Kingdom conquering to the south all lands including north Greece and putting Issa under siege. In the hidden chamber of the Nakovana cave SPILA, a mysterious ceremony is held. Rome cannot accept the powerful Illyrian Kingdom and demands it to submit. Queen Teuta sends a message from GRAD to Romans: “We are not surrendering!”. Only after 200 years of bloody wars with Illyrians, emperor Augustus conquerers Grad.
