Hillforts overlooking village Grahovo - Slovenia 3D Model
On the eastern edge of lake Cerknica above village Grahovo we can find 4 hillforts clustered together. It is typical for whole region around lake, that hillforts are situated on the hills surrounding it. As lake is intermittent it provides extensive farming land and pastures.
- Hillfort Spicek is the largest of four. The remains of a wall around it are still in good condition. Inside it there are clearly seen the housing terraces.
- Hillfort Zajcji Vrh is in between both bigger ones. Remains of a wall around it are still visible.
- Hillfort Zerovniscek has double on some places triple wall around it. On the top level there are clearly seen remains of late antiquity (probably 5. and 6. century AD) houses. Iron age and later reused in late antiquity.
- Hillfort Lisjak is the least preserved of all four. Even on lidar we barely see it.
