More model informationThis is the historic Sally Port Door entrance to the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, St. Augustine, Florida. The doors were removed in c. 1958 for conservation and protection purposes and they are today on exhibition in the site museum and surrounded by a glass enclosure. These wooden cypress doors were built in c. 1821 to control the entrance into the interior of the fort. The Sally Port doors consisted of two larger main doors and a smaller door called a “wicket” that was designed for individuals to pass through. background image for model is 3D render showing the sally port digitally placed into its original position and shown in relation to the drawbridge.
