Anthony of Padua was a Portuguese priest of the Franciscans. He is venerated as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church. The saint is the patron saint of the cities of Padua, Lisbon, Paderborn, Hildesheim and Menden, as well as bakers, swineherds, miners, travelers and social workers.
