The figure of St. Benedict stands on a pillar. He holds the abbot’s staff in his left hand and points out into the countryside with his right. A raven sits at his feet. On the pedestal is the inscription “U.I.O.G.D.” (Ut in omnibus glorificetur Deus - So that God may be glorified in everything). The monument by Karl Gollner was erected and consecrated in 1978 to mark the 1500th anniversary of the birth of St. Benedict.
