Brigadier long dress coat with braided epaulettes. Very dark navy, almost black long coat, made from wool and is designed with a double-breasted front and mandarin collar. There are 16 buttons up the front, 8 either side of the opening. There is a split up the back of the coat, potentially for a sword but more than likely to help movement when riding a horse. Built into this split, there are 2 concealed pockets either side with buttons on the top and bottom of the pocket. Black silk lining throughout the body of the garment with extra padding around the arms and wear points along with reinforced stitching. The sophisticated tailoring techniques suggests this was an incredibly well-made garment. There is a blue velvet Mandarin collar with matching blue velvet cuffs on sleeve. There is the brigadier stripe along with epaulettes on the shoulders along with uniformed matching buttons
