HMS Nimble Iron Round Shot 3D Model
A 24-pound, cast-iron cannon shot, cleaned and conserved after being recovered from a reef near Key Largo, Florida. The site it comes from consists of other, similar shot and iron ballast ingots. It is known that, in 1827, the British Royal Navy schooner HMS Nimble ran onto a reef in the same area and jettisoned these exact things to lighten itself and float freely again. The 14.2 centimeter diameter cannonball has a circular casting mark of unknown significance.
