Hogback Stone, Inchcolm Abbey

Dating to around the 10th Century, this early medieval grave marker was discovered near Incholm Abbey.

It’s similar to Viking grave markers found in Scotland and Northern England with its hog-back shaped roof, carved tiles and animal decoration.

The carvings of a man with outstretched arms and a cross are thought to by Christian.
