Left mandible of a cave lion (Panthera spelaea) found in 1969 in the cave »Bärenfalle« at the Tennengebirge (Salzburg, Austria). The mandible belongs to an adult, female lion dated of about 50,000 years. By an altitude of about 2,100 a.s.l. the cave is one of the most altitudinous sites of cave lions in the Alps.
