The church is built in Gus Zhelezny (literally - Iron Goose) village in the 19th century (1802 to 1868) by a local mining company’s wealthy owner. The unknown architect chose the pseudo-gothic style making this church genuinely unique. It is impossible to find another one like this in Russia, not just the region around. This is the largest and arguably the most beautiful of the village churches in Russia. The church was repurposed as a warehouse in the Soviet era. They sold kerosine in the building. Fortunately, it was not destroyed and is now active, still undergoing some reconstructions inside.

The church stands far from any major cities, I took a half-day to travel there. The weather was not great, and the source material is pretty noisy. The crosses on top are lost in the noise. I’ve spent tens of hours reprocessing it and learned a lot, though not nearly enough to make this scan shine.
