KNM-WT 15000, also known an Nariokotome Boy or Turkana Boy is a juvenile Homo erectus who existed approximately 1.6 million years ago. This particular specimen was discovered in 1984 in West Turkana, Kenya. Nariokotem Boy was aged to be approximately 9 years old at death, although some have aged this individual to be as old 12 years old. There were 109 bones originally discovered, but in this model there are 33 present plus the skull. The individual belongs to the same genus as modern humans and had some similar morphology, including numerous skeletal elements that are indicative of bipedalism. However, there are also many features, especially in the skull, that distinguish this specimen from other species in the Homo genus.
