300,000 to 600,000 YA. The Homo erectus skull Peking Man is also known as Pithecanthropus pekinensis (Sinanthropus). The gray coloration indicates areas that were sculpted based on the original fragments. This scan was made as a collaborative effort between The Ohio State University Department of Anthropology, the Office of Distance Education and eLearning, and the Department of Art.

Captured with a Canon EOS camera array and processed/edited in Agisoft Photoscan.

This scan was produced in 2017 the 3D scanning lab, created and run by Andrew Frueh, in the Department of Art at The Ohio State University.
