Water Margin: Voyager is a science-fi spin off of the original novel, Water Margin. In this concept, Li Kui as the main protagonist is transported into a science-fi variation of the universe of Water Margin. He assassinates Song Jiang to gain leadership of the LiangShan rebels in hopes to prevent the many deaths and eventual disbandment of the rebels. Some of the rebels, including Hua Rong, eventually find out about this. Hua Rong was heartbroken– he had been loyal to Song Jiang whilst he was alive. Feeling betrayed by his close relationship with Li Kui, Hua Rong confronts him.
