Captured with Artec Space Spider https://www.artec3d.com/portable-3d-scanners/artec-spider . This hub cap features a lot of rather flat monotone surfaces, so in order to make the scanning process easier, we used a pencil to drew crosses on it so as to create additional texture. This assisted both with tracking and further registration of the data. The crosses were easily removed during post-processing. In addition, we used a rotating table with a texture-rich design to ensure that the scanner would maintain tracking even when capturing the thin metal wires.
