Hubertuskapelle3D ModelNoAI
Hubertus Chapel in the former landscape park of the House of Liechtenstein between Feldsberg and Eisgrub. The chapel in neo-Gothic style was commissioned by Prince Alois II of Liechtenstein and built according to plans by Georg Wingelmüller in 1855. The triangular building with its Gothic arches has a ribbed vault. In the centre of the chapel is the statue of St. Hubert, standing on a pedestal with deer heads and angel statues. The chapel was built of sandstone blocks with fictitious medieval stone markings to give a sense of antiquity.
Hubertus of Liège (655-727) is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. He is considered the patron saint of hunting, but for many also the first opponent of hunting because, according to legend, he renounced hunting altogether after seeing a stag.
