Painterly ice crystal formation Process: I generated a texture using my local SDXLTurbo setup through comfyUI then generated a 3d model based on the image using a local copy of Stability AI’s TripoSR. The model was decent from the generative AI so I did a remesh then I split the model in half, deleted one half and mirrored the other. With the solid symetrical mesh I decimated it down to under 2k poly’s and then did a front projection for the UV’s. I scaled the uv’s to fit nicely inside the original image to preserve all the detail, since the texture that is given with the TripoSR is quite bad. After that I used sculpting tools to push and pull the crystals around so it is not as symetrical and looks more natural. The whole process took maybe 15 minutes, I will be probably be making more models this way.
