Illyrian-type helmets

These are Illyrian helmets, which are noticeable for having accute cheekguards and an overall shape that nearly covers all of the head. Additionally, there’s the detail of the helmet always being open in the front.

Made for the RTR: Imperium Surrectum mod, for the game Rome Total War Remastered.

Made in Blender - 716 vertices each

The creative process is as follows: - a low poly model is made. - a copy from the low poly is made and made high poly, via a subdivision modifier and a multi-res (not applied), which brings the mesh to over 10 million vertices. This is to ensure detail precision. - Details are sculpted onto the high poly mesh - Detail work is baked from high to low poly mesh - Any colour work is done in texturepaint.

Some minor steps have been learned since the previous upload, namely the simple addition of SubD mod to the high poly mesh before working with the multires, or sculpting metal roughness to give the model more character.
