This scan captures an impeller—a rotating component with blades designed to impart rotational kinetic energy to fluids—in a single shot from one angle using the Ajile Depthscan 3D imaging system. Despite the complex geometry and reflective surfaces typical of impellers, this example showcases the system’s ability to capture intricate details and accurate 3D geometry in a single acquisition. The result is an inspection-ready point cloud ideal for metrology, quality control, and reverse engineering applications where capturing complex, machined parts quickly and precisely is essential.
