IMPROVED MELODEON Model 1 Swell Mechanism
In 1846, Jeremiah Carhart in Buffalo, New York, USA, developed the first suction wind bellows for free reed organs in the USA.
As early as 1847, Jeremiah Carhart, together with George A. Prince and Elas Parkman Needham, developed the first free reed organ in the USA with suction wind bellows in Buffalo, New York on Main Street.
They called their first free reed organ with suction wind bellows the improved Melodeon.
I have uploaded 3 models with the most important mechanical parts on Sketchfab:
- Model 1: The swell foot pedal with mechanics
- Model 2: The bellows foot pedal with bellows and mechanics
- Model 3: a cross section of an improved melodeon
