The “In Broad Daylight” neon sign is by contemporary artist Tavares Strachan. His sign hung up on the facade of the Baltimore Musuem of Art from 2018 to August 2020.
From Strachan’s interview with Cara Ober at Bmore Art about the installation: “The phrase [In Broad Daylight] resonates with me because it evokes a duality. It’s a little bit tongue-in-cheek, hinting at what historically has gone on inside museums, essentially a home for the powerful, deals happening there that the rest of us are not necessarily privy to.”
