GLOAM
Her bones like teeth. Needling and chattery. Chittery. Rivets in her skin. R[H]atcheting.
THE GLOAM
Glimpsed bovine slick, blurred ebony freeze, spotlit. A thousand glints in pinpoint yawning eyes.
OF THE GLOAM
Crouching way away, she waits. Her coat: [char]coal. Her back: ramrod. All muscleburnt and icy.
SKIN OF THE GLOAM
They mirror now, watching on through flitter glints, through waxless eyes, max-sheened.
THE SKIN OF THE GLOAM
A tactical [p]act-freeze here, in this place of weighed glass. Observers and observed. A twin of flit and roll, of yaw and blur. [F]Lip flopping, all snort and sieve each other’s grubby air. Twilight upped…
IN THE SKIN OF THE GLOAM
…and the wait collapses. Skitter-jeering, d[sc]ream-silos running through, vibrating, tumbling, retracting. Veering, now, m[squ]ashed and chitter-teething, back to the [s]kin of the gloam.
