Incised headstone, Kirkmadrine ChurchYour model is disabled. For more details go to Edit properties3D Model
This stone is one of the early Latin stones found at Kirkmadrine Church in Dumfries and Galloway.
The inscription ‘SET FLOREN TIUS’ in Roman capitals is laid out horizontally below an encircled Chi-Rho cross. It has been suggested that this stone was meant to be read as a continuation of an inscription on a neighbouring stone slab, making the two individuals in the inscription into bishops like Viventius and Mavorius.
