Wow this project took a while and a BUNCH of back and forth.

Here is the cycles render version

The animated character texture (aka 12 frames animation) was made using Krita. The textures were done using ink, pen and watercolor, edited using Krita as well. The “mirror” is a custom HDRi trial and error that only have 6 frames in it, pretty weird but the effect is good enough. If you zoom in in the mirror corners(and move the praxinoscope) you can actually see the Sketchfab’s Screen Space Reflection (SSR) showing the animation properly.
