More model information占卜之前在龜甲或獸骨背面先施行鑽鑿，占卜時再於鑽鑿處灼燒，在正面就會裂出「卜」形的卜兆，根據卜兆判斷兇吉，之後再把卜辭寫刻上去，卜辭就是這樣產生的。同一件事情，往往會從正向和反向卜問很多次，於是有所謂正反對貞的卜辭，卜兆也會有很多個。
此為二片龜腹甲所綴合而成的對貞卜辭，出土於殷墟小屯遺址127號灰坑。刻有甲骨文33字，刻字有填墨。內容是在辛酉這一天，卜問是否可以戰勝敵對的方國，以正反兩方面去占卜，各占卜了五次，所以正向和反向各有五個卜兆。
This inscribed turtle plastron was found as two separate pieces and was reconstructed. The inscription’s contents record divination on the day of Hsin-you asking whether they could defeat a rival statelet. The divination was in a pair of charges: positive and negative, each charge for five times, therefore there are five pairs of divination cracks.
