The Midland Railway company operated in the UK from 1844 to 1922 when it became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway. The company managed its large network of lines from its Derby headquarters.
The military-style peaked cap has a nickel wyvern badge and “Inspector” in nickel script letters.
