This is Inussuk Innartooq Qaarusussuaq (Cairn Climb Cave) located at 80’N in Northeast Greenland. It is a short cave c. 20 m long, which is accessed by an overhanging climb. In the entrance there is a cairn with a white handkerchief sticking out of the top, showing that we weren’t the first people to visit this place. The walls have some interesting brown patches on them, which have been sampled for microbial analysis. The end of the cave is covered in a beautiful ice wall.
